Description
Caribbean Sprinter Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Captain to join our maritime team. The Captain will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels. Responsibilities include completing pre-departure checklists, overseeing safety equipment, coordinating with crew members, monitoring weather conditions, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a commitment to safety, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete a thorough checklist each morning before the vessel departs, ensuring all systems are operational and safety equipment is accessible.
- Coordinate with crew members to assign tasks and ensure readiness for departure, including assisting with loading shipments and passengers.
- Captain and Crew are responsible for keeping vessel clean at all times.
- Monitor weather conditions and make informed decisions regarding safe navigation routes, prioritizing the safety of passengers, crew, and vessel.
- Safely secure the vessel and all materials at the end of each shift, adhering to company protocols and procedures.
- Foster a team-oriented work environment, collaborating effectively with all staff members to achieve operational goals.
- Provide exceptional customer service to passengers, addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely and courteous manner.
Requirements
Education & Experience- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years experience operating commercial passenger vessels or a related field
- Valid Captain's license issued by The Belize Port Authority.
Skills and Competencies- In-depth knowledge of maritime navigation principles, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Technologically proficient
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Additional Requirements- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and responsible
Salary Range
- Two Weeks Trail Period $8 / hour
- Post Trail Period $10.00 / hour

Hours
- This is a full-time position, requiring 45+ hours per week
- Captains' operating hours are 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Seven (7) Days a Week
- Work schedules will be assigned based on the operational needs
